Hi, we just got you email. We love the website it's a great idea and very well laid out websit with great content.
These are apartment style rooms including a small kitchenette. This hotel is located right nextdoor to the apartment we will be staying at. It is about 500 meters off the main road along the beach.
Rooms average around 50/60 euro per night.
Please email Anna Maria directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a room as you will get a better rate than going through a third party vendor such as booking.com. In your email please mention you are booking as part of the Mary Wallace and Padraic Smith wedding party.
Ios Palace is a 4 star hotel and spa at the top end of the beach and approx 10 minute walk to the village. This hotel has beautiful views of the beach and right in the heart of all the beach reastaurant and bars.
Rooms start at 125 euro a night. The room rates are inclusive of breakfast.
Please email Dini at email@example.com if you wish to book a room and mention you are part of the Mary Wallace and Padraic Smith wedding party to avail of the wedding rates.
Dionysos Hotel is a 4 star hotel situated right on the beach. This hotel is next door to the apartment we will be staying at.
Staying at this hotel you will be able to avail of their private swimming pool and their beach beds complimentary.
This hotel also runs morning yoga and beach circuits free of charge for their guests.
Hotel rooms at Dionysos start at 110 euro per night which is inclusive of breakfast. You will also have an additional 10% off all purchases at their beach bar.
Please contact Maria at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to book a room and mention you are part of the Mary Wallace & Padraic Smith wedding party to avail of the above mentioned price.
Aegeon Hotel is best decribed as cheap and cheerful.
This hotel is ideally situated along the beach and offers apartment style rooms inclusive of a kitchenette. This hotel offers a private pool, is directly across from the beach and in the heart of all the bars and restaurants.
Rooms start at approx 45 euro per night, I did visit this hotel but do not have a wedding rate in place.
Please reach out directly to the hotel if you wish to book to get the best deal possible.
If you wish to stay down by the port we would recommend Petros Place Hotel. This hotel has just been refurbished and offer apartment style apartments.
The hotel is situated right by the port beach and has a lovey pool/bar area.
Rooms start at 70 euro a night.
This hotel is located a short walk from the beach and is approx. 45 euro per room per night.
There is a short walk up hill to get to this hotel from the beach and bars/restaurants.
There are three main areas on the island the port, the village (Ios) and the beach (Milopotamos).
It is roughly a 30 minute walk from the port to the beach passing through the village on your way. A bus runs between all three locations approx every 30 minutes and cost 2 euro per ride. A taxi is on average 5 euro from one location to another.
Our reccommendation is to stay either by the beach or the port. The village is very lively at night, however, has no direct access to a beach.
The port is is a quieter part of the island, there is a small beach there and has some lovely restaurants.
When booking a hotel, please reach out directly to the hotel themselves via email to get the best rate possible. If you use a thrid party vendor such as booking.com you will pay approx 25% more per night.
Please feel free to reach out to me should you require any additional information on the hotels options or if you want to inquire about hotel not on our recommended list.
If you could also let me know which hotel you have booked after booking, this way if a number of guests are staying in the same place I can contact the hotel directly to try and get a better rate per night.
The last week in June is considered the islands busy season, please make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. I would reccomend securing a booking before March 2017.
We will be staying along the beach and would be our preferred location on the island. We will be hosting any pre/post wedding events at restaurants along the beach.
There is a large selection of hotels along the beach to pick from.
Aer Lingus run direct flights from Dublin to Athens on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday throughout the summer.
Return tickets to Athens currently is approx EUR 250.
Our recommendation is to fly to Athens, spend the night in the city and get a ferry to Ios the next morning.
Alternatively you can get a connecting flight to from Athens to Santorini or another neighbouring island with an airport.
Aegean Airlines fly directly to Athens from Dublin Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.
Return ticket is approx EUR 180.
As they are Greek airline they accommodate flights from Dublin to the neighbouring islands such as Santorini with a 1 hour lay over in Athens. If planning to visit other island on your trip this might be the airline for you!!
Their only downfall is the flight leaves Dublin at 11pm landing in Athens at 5am and check on luggage is a little pricey compared to the other airlines.
Ryan Air fly direct from Dublin to Athens on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
A return flight is currently approx EUR 300.
You will be required to get a ferry from whichever island/city you chose to fly to.
Traveling from Athens you will be leaving from the port in Piraeus to Ios. If traveling from a neighbouring Island you can travel directly from the respective island to Ios.
The ferries typicalling depart early morning from Athens and arrive at Ios late morning/early afternoon. The journey is approx 4 hours. The returning ferries departing from Ios typically leave early afternoon.
The ferry from Athens to Ios cost approx EUR 80 return.
Please RSVP by May 1st

Please RSVP by March 1st
Less than 5 weeks until the big day, I hope everyone is out enjoying the good weather getting their base tan for Greece.
I wanted to just send a quick note to remind everyone to book their ferry ticket in advance if they know which date they will be travelling to Ios. I have a link to a website which you can book tickets through on the "how to get there" page. The most popular ferry is the 7am ferry from Piraeus to Ios, this ferry takes approx 4.5 hrs. As it is peak season we recommend booking the tickets in advance if possible. You can also get tickets at the port if you would like to wait until the day.
Also, gentlemen please note formal attire (suit) is not required for the weddding, it is going to be hot so please feel free to wear chino/smart shorts along with a short sleeve shirt and boat shoes, linen suits also acceptable. I will post a picture of myself and Podge at a destination wedding to give you an idea.
If you have already booked your ferry or when you do would you mind dropping myself or Podge an email/text/WhatsApp etc to let us know what day and time you are arriving into Ios?
Please reach out to us if you have any questions at all and cant wait to see you all in Greece in a few weeks time xx

Happy New Year.
Now we are in 2017 the wedding is only around the corner....eeeek.....
Just a heads up for anyone looking to book flights, they are starting to creep up in price. I would recommend booking them this month to get the best possible value if you have confirmed you can make the trip.
There is now an additional airline flying direct from Dublin to Athens since I put this website together, Aegean Airline. They are slightly cheaper than the other airlines, however, they fly through the night arriving in Athens at 5am which might not be desirable for all.
Also, if you are planning a trip around the Greek Island or just looking for more information on how to get to Ios from Athens checkout the below link to a really informative article:
Let me know if you have any questions at all xx
We intend to use this page for sharing any updates such as Aer Lingus sales, a change to an event etc.
